This Saturday night, 13th March 2010, starts the three race final stretch to crown the 2009/2010 Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway Sprintcar Track Champion. And with three consecutive weekends of Sprintcar racing left it looks like it might come down to a battle between defending champion Mitchell Dumesny and nearest rival Marty “Muscles” Perovich.
Mitchell Dumesny, who is studying Robotic & Mechatronic Engineering at UWS Penrith campus, is currently holding onto a twelve point lead over the fast finishing Perovich. Speaking to the young throttle stompers during the week they are both excited about the next three weeks at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway. “We have been very busy out here at Nelson on the family property changing things on this racecar to go back to back in the Sprintcar Track Championship” commented a focused Mitchell Dumesny. The hectic action kicked off with the Grand Final of Performance Wholesale World Series Sprintcars at Perth Motorplex on February 5 and 6.
Sydney star Ian Madsen proved to be the star of the weekend driving the locally owned Garry Miller #32 car.
On Friday night Madsen downed Ryan Farrell and David Murcott in the preliminary main event and then scored over Robbie Farr and Farrell in the A Main the next evening. ... read more

Under the Series regulations in place for the 2009/10 season, tomorrow night's eighth Round of the Qld Speedway Spares Series at Titan Garages Brisbane International Speedway will use a draw and invert system for determining the qualifying Heat race grids with drivers seeded by Club averages prior to the draw.
The format has been used extensively in the past by Sprintcars Qld and other racing Associations, and has been included in the Series regulations to provide an additional format for drivers to race under while adding additional interest for the fans. The format was last used in Round 3 of the Series this season - with Kerry Madsen winning the Feature in a guest drive for the ABC Auto Gear Racing team - and is slated to be used again in Round 9 in two weeks time at BIS. ... read more
