Peak Season Planning In Place For The Purple V88

Whilst the team announced early in the season it had secured the services of World of Outlaws rookie David Gravel to pilot the potent Drysdale’s Chaff Mills / Bass Concreting #V88 through the biggest week on the Sprintcar calendar, the remainder of the season represented little more than an unfinished jigsaw puzzle.

After running a spasmotic roster of shows to this point, team owner Mathew Eastham is extremely pleased to announce a firm roster moving forward.

“We are rapt to announce that we will have Belly ( Stephen Bell ) back in the car from this weekend through to the Victorian Title at Avalon.”

The Bell / Eastham combination has been a strong combo in recent seasons, and having a number of races under their belt leading into the Victorian Title bides well for team.

“The Victorian Title is a race that definitely means a lot to both of us, so we are eyeing that one off well in advance that’s for sure!”

All in all, Bell will steer the car on four occasions starting Saturday Night at Premier Speedway Warrnambool for the SRA Twin Features night.

They will then contest the two final nights of World Series Sprintcars Speedweek together at Avalon Raceway and Premier Speedway before returning to Avalon for the Victorian Title on January 11th.

In the days following, the American gun will touch down in Melbourne and Eastham is excited to announce that he will begin his campaign All Stars Challenge 360 event at Simpson Speedway on January 18th.

“Mandy runs a great series and we are rapt to be able to give David a shakedown run at Simpson.”

From there, things immediately get serious as they prepare to tackle the Presidents Cup at Avalon as well as the Kings Challenge at Mount Gambier leading into the 3 night Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic at Warrnambool.

“We are definitely keeping focused on the short term races, but I would be lying if I didn’t admit that there is some real excitement about having a driver of David’s caliber in our car for the big races in that Classic week.”

“David is proven to be a driver capable of winning against the Outlaws, but even more attractive is his attitude and his demeanor.”

“He will be great for our sponsors and fans alike.”

Whilst the Classic seems a little while away yet, in further good news for the team, Eastham is happy to announce that ‘The Real Deal’ Jamie Veal will be at the wheel for the State of Origin prelude race, and the two-night Australian Sprintcar Title held at Bendigo Bank, Latrobe Speedway in Tasmania concluding on Saturday the 1st of February.
“Jamie has been real strong when he has been in the car this year, leading the feature at Moama before we were forced out with a motor gremlim and he ran 5th at the Bill Wigzell Battle of the Bridge, again hamstrung with motor troubles.”

With three drivers in the car through five races, the team now feels like the pre-season period is over, and with that the motor troubles, and are now settled down and ready to attack the remainder of the summer.

“We now have everything in place, the drivers, the car and all our valued sponsors to have a red hot crack!”
