Confidence Boosting Night for Reidy

A second-place finish in last Saturday night’s latest round of the KRE Sprintcar Series at Archerfield Speedway for Danny Reidy was his best performance of the 2013-14 season so far.

The NQ # 5 Desert Palms in Alice Springs supported J&J driver was battling with Andrew Scheuerle for the lead in the latter stages of the feature race, before eventual winner Robbie Farr passed both of them in one move, but Reidy went on to finish in second.

“We were looking pretty good to challenge Andrew (Scheuerle) for the lead until Farry (Robbie Farr) caught us both out,” explained Reidy, who had started from position four in the feature-race field. “My car was great throughout the feature race, and I felt that I had a car good enough to win, but in the end, Farry made the most of his opportunities and it rewarded him with the win.”

Reidy continued on by saying that his first podium finish of the 2013-14 season is a big confidence boost for the whole Reidy Racing team.

“Our start to the season has been a bit of a mixed bag in terms of results, but I feel that our team has turned a corner,” he enthused. “This result proves that we’re heading in the right direction, and it’s just in time for all the big shows coming up over the next two months.”

Leading up to the feature race, Reidy had posted the sixth quickest lap in time trials, then finished fourth and sixth in his heat races and locked in his feature-race starting spot with a fourth in the top-6 dash.

Reidy and his team will take a short break, prior to returning to Archerfield Speedway on Boxing Day night (December 26) for the seventh round of the KRE Series.

Reidy Racing would like to thank Desert Palms Resort in Alice Springs, Downs Tinting & Signs, P&M Motor Body Repairs, Gonzo’s Race Pipes and Inglis Race Engines, for all of their 2013-14 season support.
