After a year off the World Series Sprintcars tour Bordertown’s Dylan Jenkin appears to have lost very little of his immense talent as after three rounds of the gruelling schedule the Tatiara Truck and Trailers #51 pilot sits eleventh in points and sixth place of the contracted stars. To this point of the five night Speedweek Series the highlight so far has been the speed the car possesses straight out of the box as Jenkin is yet to time outside the top 10 in time trials.
Having already contested two previous events at Speedway City this season Jenkin showed that the early season track experience payed off as he timed third in the 39 car field before going on to top qualify in the heat races. Unfortunately Jenkin fell back to third in the Gold Shootout and went on to record an eleventh placed finish in the 35 lap A-Main.
The following two nights were a similar story during qualifying as he qualified fourth at Murray Bridge and ninth at Mount Gambier but following the heat races he failed to transfer into the top 8 Shootout. However he has managed to qualify for all three feature events with fourteenth and thirteenth placed results respectively.
“Our aim this year on World Series is to go out and have fun as a Family and when you are making the A-Main regularly that is all you can ask for. Qualifying has always been a strong point for me and the guys always give me a good car. We haven’t had the best of runs in the A-Mains but we are going to two tracks I have raced a fair bit at so let’s hope we can get a top 10 or better in the next couple of nights” added Dylan after Borderline.
