Brent Kratzmann has driven the definitive race of his career to win the Toowoomba Chronicle Carnival of Power at Hi-Tec Oils Speedway.

Kratzmann started the night by qualifying second-quick to emerging hotshot Cody Maroske, and a first and third in his heats qualified him on the second row of the A-Main.

Immediately he claimed second position behind Robbie Farr and pursued the Q7 for 26 laps of the race, until Farr slid to a halt to avoid an incident in turn four, relegating him to the rear of the field.

Peter Lack and Luke Oldfield couldn’t make an impression on Kratzmann and settled for the remaining spots on the podium while Andrew Scheuerle advanced from sixth to fourth on the final restart to leave Jayden Peacock to claim fifth.

“I hadn’t seen too many around me the whole race so I knew we were quick, but Drew (Gessner) and I talked about a few changes this week and they worked. I’ve done some pretty cool things through work in my life but this is the biggest thing I’ve ever achieved!”

Gympie’s Aidan Raymont claimed the Modified Sedans feature race, proving that he truly is one of the nation’s leading drivers, taking his current Victorian and South Australian state title resume to the top of the podium over Toowoomba Top Guns, Shane MacDonald and Rodney Pammenter.

In the Formula 500’s, reigning National Champion Liam Williams was unstoppable despite Ryan MacNamara driving a classy race to finish an impressive runner up, while Tristan Johnson was just able to get past Graham Williams who faltered on fuel to take third.

Nic Whell was the dominant force in the Formula 500 Junior Development Series, however a DNF in the first heat allowed Tarleah Apelt the overall night points win over Taylor Prosser and Jy Corbet.
