OVER IN A HEART BEAT

Kaiden Manders and the #60 J&S Drilling Sprintcar Team continued their fine recent form at the Perth Motorplex on Saturday evening.
The format saw the drivers contest a 2-lap qualifying session before they lined up for their first heat race.
Manders was in the second group and reeled off a 14.512 second lap that was the fastest in his section and 2nd best overall - only 0.072 of a second outside the best performance.
He maintained second spot throughout the 8-lap heat race and later was awarded the win after the other driver was penalised for jumping the start.
During this race Manders clocked a 14.384 second circulation - that turned out to be the fastest time of the entire night.
Next time out he finished third.
Fourteen cars lined up for the 30-lap Feature Race.
However a car spun between turns one and two on the opening lap.
Manders could not avoid him and rolled his car onto its side - ending his night.

He summed up the meeting as follows:- "It was really disappointing for us. We had such a great night going and we were confident going in to the feature. Everybody worked really hard all night and that’s definitely not what we deserved. But that’s the way it goes sometimes and we have to pick ourselves up and carry on."
