THE Cowara Motorsport team is delighted to announce Michael Keen their new driver forthe 2024-25 season in the 410 Sprintcar ranks.
Over the past two decades the Cowara Motorsport team, which based in Cowaramup in Western Australia and owned by Steve and Sharron Duggan, has had some of country’s best racers in the likes of Ryan Farrell, Cameron Gessner, Ken Sartori, Darren Mollenoyux andChace Karpenko as well as American Kaley Gharst, steer the WA
# 41 car, and the latest addition to this driver line-up is 410 Sprintcar rookie Michael Keen.
Despite having no 410 Sprintcar experience, the 28-year-old from Bunbury has over a decade of experience in both Limited and 360 Sprintcar competition with a lot of success and making the next career step into 410 Sprintcar racing is certainly an exciting prospect for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
“To say that I’m excited about teaming up with a young driver like Michael would be quite the understatement,” expressed Cowara Motorsport’s Steve Duggan.
“Michael (Keen) brings with him a lot of experience in the lower ranks of Sprintcars, and I’ve been keeping an eye on him over the years, so I feel that the time is right to give him a shot
at 410 Sprintcar racing.”
The Cowara Motorsport team has enjoyed its fair share of success over the years in Western Australia, which includes multiple SEG Series wins, numerous blue-ribbon event successes and even a top 10 finish in the Grand Annual Classic on the east coast, but the Duggan and Keen combination have set realistic goals heading into their first season together.
“The upcoming season here in Western Australia is set to be one of the biggest ever, especially with High Limit Racing coming to Australia, and we have committed to doing the entire Maddington Toyota Series with Michael,” said Duggan.
“With it being Michael’s first season in 410 Sprintcars, we are just wanting to get him as comfortable as possible and get him up to speed, as we know Michael is a talented driver and we have every bit of faith in him finding his feet and becoming more competitive with
each outing.”
As one would expect, Keen is excited about taking the next step in his Sprintcar career with the Cowara Motorsport team.
“I would like to thank Steve and team for the wonderful opportunity to move into 410 Sprintcar racing, and I’m excited to get to work and start learning as quickly as possible and seeing how we go together,” he enthused.
“Another exciting prospect is the fact that my older brother Daniel in the role of overseeing the whole Cowara Motorsport team throughout the season from our team base here in Bunbury, and hopefully it’s going to make the transition so much better.”
